The resort of Vars
Vars, perched at 1,850 meters, combines a festive spirit with a magnificent alpine panorama. Its layout of hamlets spread throughout the forest and its lively atmosphere appeal to sporty families, riders, and young skiers. The resort offers easy access from Guillestre and the Durance Valley. The range of off-ski activities and snow/freestyle events contribute to its allure among a dynamic clientele.
The Vars ski area, part of the extensive Forêt Blanche ensemble (with Risoul), boasts 185 km of marked slopes (116 runs) and 50 ski lifts, including many high-speed chairlifts. The maximum vertical drop is 1,100 m, and snow coverage is ensured by over 320 snow cannons. The area is known for its large snowparks, boardercross, and very accessible freeride zones.
